Description: Photograph In 1894 a single storied wooden hotel 'Hewitt's' stood on this ground. it burnt down around 1910. and the pictured building was constructed. The Hewitt's ran a wine bar. restaurant and boarding house. During the 1930's the building was used as the Hewitt's private residence and in the 1940's Mrs. Reidy (nee Hewitt) ran a coffee palace.
