Description: B&W photograph of Mrs Thomas Anne Cole(nee McCrae) was taken from a painting by John Irving(Edinburgh 1858). She was born in 1810 and married Captain George Ward Cole in 1842 at the home of her brother Andrew McCrae and his wife Georgina McCrae. She went to live at St Ninians in Brighton where she had 6 children. St Ninians was the focal point of social life in Brighton.
