      Description: B&W photograph shows the Hampton pier in moonlight with the (1906 constructed) wooden breakwater in the background. The breakwater was a shield from the north westerlies. Hampton pier builtin 1882 was a popular destination for those wishing to promenade and see the sights. Hampton pier was sometimes referred to as Sandringham Jetty.
