Description: Merri Street, Warrnambool, from Flagstaff Hill during the days of early settlement - photograph taken on 22 May 1860. It was along this unmade track that the early settlers travelled as they made their way from the ship to the Settlement. Ladies in foreground believed to be Mary and Ellen Semple, wife and daughter of Andrew, who was a cooper at the flour mill in Merri Street.
