Description: Back page reads... 'Williamstown is a modern city rich in local history and its Council jealously preserves its links with Victoria's early days. This Picture from the Council's historical records, was published in the Illustrated Australian News of March 25, 1874 and shows HMVS Nelson at the opening of the graving dock at Williamstown. The Nelson, a 120-gun 3 decker warship was a British Gift to the Victorian Navy in 1866 and was the the largest ship built in Britan when it was launched in 1814.'
