Description: Toorak Road looking west from near South Yarra Station. The photo may be dated by checking the following shops against the Sands & McDougall directories: W.S. Beard, grocer (No.154); W.J. Laws, butcher (No.152); Charles Rose, electrician and bicycle works (No.146); A. E. Hubble, tobacconist (No.156). These people are consistent with the 1905 directory, but not the directories for 1900 or 1910. A count of the number of cross bars on the telegraph pole assists in dating photo 7174 - the latter photo shows more connections.
