Description: Black and white photograph of 72 Clendon Road with high-rise flats in the background, demonstrating the contrast between traditional, low-density housing and privately built high-rise flats in Toorak. The Clendon Road house is now the home of the Toorak branch of the Returned Services League; the flats are (at left) at 512 Toorak Road (Greenways), and 516 Toorak Road (Oakdene). Clendon Road was originally the driveway to Orrong House; several of the oak trees that lined the route are still extant, including one shown on the left hand edge of this photo.
