Description: Photo of early shops in Toorak Road (south side), South Yarra, including James Wilson (plumber), J. Romanis (undertaker), and C. Romanis (cabinet maker and carpenter). Coburg Place, now known as Myrtle Street, is in the foreground (note sign on Wilson's shop). The directory entries do not provide a perfect match for these shops, however James Wilson, plumber, is only shown for the years 1866-1869. J. Romanis is listed in those years as an undertaker, but not Romanis & Co as cabinet makers etc.
