Description: Photo of councillors inspecting roadworks at Alexandra Avenue, east of Chapel Street. This extension was finally completed in the early 1930s with the assistance of funding by Sidney Myer for unemployed workers. The Engineer's report p. 49 refers to the raising of the Yarra embankment above flood level to protect the Como playing areas, and notes that this embankment will eventually become the extension of the Alexandra Boulevard.
