Description: Size: 193 x 130 mm An elderly man and woman in the laundry at the Convent of the Good Shepherd. He (the photographer's father) wears a torn apron and the woman, who is tiny, wears a shapeless wrapover and large black boots. Part of the income needed to run the convent was for many years derived from an industrial laundry in which the residents worked.
