Description: Size: 236 x 202 mm The hall at William Pitt's house decorated in quintessential Victorian style. Contrasting wallpapers are used on the dado, border, and upper walls and a heavily-patterned carpet in dark colours covers the wall. Chairs are upholstered in plush and there is a mirror-backed hallstand. Many pictures adorn the walls, two marble or parian figures stand on pedestals and there are a number of potted palms. Through the velvet curtains hanging from the archway can be seen the portrait of Pitt by Charles Gordon Frazer which now hangs in the Collingwood Town Hall. Pitt was a Collingwood councillor from 1888 to 1894 and was mayor in 1890-91.
