Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. Survey classification on August 9-15, 1970. No.31 & No.33 described as'good brick'. No. 33 was bought by Housing commission on 31 March 1970 for $12,000 and in August 1971 it was untenanted and vandalised. As of 2009 both houses appear to have survived. Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street. Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for broadscale demolition and construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents, both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
