No. 37 was described as 'good weatherboard' it had been recently reroofed. The posters 'This house not for sale to the housing Commission'. and Election Poster for Gabriella Orenstien, anti-Housing Commission candidate, August 1971 elections (Urban Renewal Committee of Citizens Action Group). Also visible to the West of No. 37, is No. 35 (pair to No. 33). To the North behind No. 37 Ivan Porter Shoe Co., 2 Boston Place. As of 2009 No. 37 and the Ivan Shoe Company are gone. 
Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street.
Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for broadscale demolition and 
construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents,
both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point
in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
