Description: Image held by Fitzroy Library. Was classified as 'Good brick' on 28 July 1970 ($11,300); It was not subject to order, and was extensively damaged by vandals before demolition 10 July 1971. Taken within the block Church Street-Rae Street- Nicholson Street. Targeted by Housing Commission, Victoria for broadscale demolition and construction of highrise apartment blocks. This was opposed by residents, both tenants and owners and factories. This campaign was a turning point in public housing policy and practice in Victoria.
