Description: Image held at Richmond Library. The photograph shows Jack Dyer surrounded by a group of admiring boys. Possibly Dyer has just arrived at a football ground since one of the boys is carrying a large bag and people are sitting on top of what may be an outer wall of a stand. Dubbed 'Captain Blood' for his tough play, Jack Dyer was nevertheless one of Richmond's greatest footballers. He played 310 games for The Richmond Football Club between 1931 and 1949.
