Description: Image held by Richmond Library. Gleadell is posed for the photographer wearing a fur-trimmed robe. Gleadell served as mayor twice, in 1870 -71, as eighth mayor of the Borough of Richmond, and in 1875 - 76, as the third mayor of the Town of Richmond. He served as a councillor throughout the 1860s and 70s. 'Johnstone.O'Shannessy & Co, Photographers to His Excellency, 3 Bourke St East, Next to the Post Office. Melbourne.' The library holds the original nineteenth-century cabinet portrait.
