Description: Image held by Richmond Library. The photograph shows men working on the construction of the new concrete bridge. The original iron bridge had been purchased from the British government at the end of the Crimean War and erected to link Chapel and Church Streets. It was replaced by a new concrete bridge which was opened in 1924. For further information refer to Richmond Library local history files RFC 236 and RFC 472.
